With the use of cinder blocks as extensions of my own physical extremities; I created an ongoing movement that mimics, our earth's orbit of the sun, as well as the life cycle of a Black woman. As time passes I grow more and more entangled and movement becomes even more restricted, creating a chaos, that echoes the video collage projected behind me. The collage expresses an overall exhaustion of my own cycle of emotions through examples of other Black women's vulnerability, starting off with the question "Why is it so hard for Black Women to cry?" These clips and sounds I found online were often used for comedic purposes or viral videos. They are now recontextualized when presented alongside my tangible struggle, the endurance bringing the audience back into the present with a stronger capability of empathy.
